Laments of Neocities

Neocities is a monoculture, that's just the plain truth. Other than the very few like me, everyone is of the same archetype, the same opinions. You see one and you've basically seen them all, there's no real variaton of opinions here.
It's all homogenous, a grey sludge of commonality. Even though I'm literally using a template, I've made something truly special. You'd have to take a long while to try to find another page quite like mine, but what you'd find would still likely have a different vibe from my own. And I'm proud of it, I've created something of which hasn't existed on Neocities to my knowledge.

All of the webrings have the same vibe as eachother, for they're essentially ran by the exact same people, populated by the same people. And personally? I wish I could create my own webring, for sites like my own. Sites made by people who are actually themselves, not just the same few archetypes over and over. I'm of a nearly completely different online DNA compared to nearly everyone here. I am actually different, in a sea of people who try so hard to be different but end up being but another drop in a sludge of grey goo. I'd rather be alone than be another drop in that ocean.
